Transfer 45 minutes to the center of Dublin, where your guided walking tour begins at Merrion Square in the heart of this Georgian capital.
The first impressive building you will view houses the National Gallery of Ireland, which contains many fine works by El Greco, Goya, Gainsborough and Caravaggio (among others).
Continue your walk, passing the Government Buildings and the Huguenot Cemetery before arriving at St Stephen's Green. This open space consists of 22 acres of beautifully laid out and manicured parkland. It is a familiar and much-loved backyard to all Dubliners.
Walking down Dawson Street, you will pass Mansion House -- the residence of Dublin's Lord Mayor.
Cross over to Grafton Street, Dublin's fashionable shopping strand, and walk along Nassau Street. A stop at a typical Irish pub is your chance to order a cool pint of Guinness (or other beverage of your choice) and meet some of the 'Dubs,' as the locals are known.
Now refreshed, you will enjoy some free time in Dublin City. You could use this time to explore Trinity College, the oldest university in Ireland, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. More than 400 years old, the college is located on a prime 40-acre city center site, where the quiet seclusion of academia contrasts richly with the bustling streets outside. On Nassau Street, a variety of shops tout quality Irish goods and invite you to use your free time for shopping.
At the conclusion of your tour, meet up with your guide and return to Merrion Square and the waiting coach.
Notes:
Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18 years. Wear comfortable walking shoes. You will see the National Gallery of Ireland from the outside only.
