This is an ideal introduction to the Danish capital, Copenhagen, as you will explore 850 years of history in a compact timeframe on a panoramic drive.
Pass the royal residence of Amalienborg Palace before driving through Nyhavn's colorful old harbor. Nearby you'll see King's Square where the Royal Theatre, embassies and many fashionable shops are located. View the warehouses and Glyptotek Art Museum, founded by Danish Brewer Carl Jacobsen, the creator of Carlsberg beer.
Next to Glyptotek lies Copenhagen's beloved Tivoli Gardens, which you will see from the outside. This is one of the world's oldest theme parks.
Catch a glimpse of the City Hall and Rosenborg Castle and take advantage of a photo stop at the Little Mermaid statue. Completed in 1913, this statue was erected to express gratitude to Hans
Christian Andersen for his well-known fairytales. The Little Mermaid is a petite force majeure -- small in stature but a major icon of the great city of Copenhagen.
Notes:
This tour is available on select sailings only and is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Copenhagen.
