Denmark is home to the oldest monarchy in the world and on this tour you will get behind the scenes at one of our oldest Palaces.
Start your tour with a visit to the most cherished landmark of Copenhagen – the famous Little Mermaid statue, then continue through the city and make a stop at the heart of Copenhagen, where you can take a walk through Kings Garden. Here you will take photos of Rosenborg Castle – the 400-years old Renaissance castle build by Christian IV whose colorful personality left a strong mark on Danish history.
After this heartwarming walk your coach will take you to Christiansborg Palace. Enjoy an inside visit to the Christiansborg Palace – It is the only building in the world to be seat of all three supreme powers of a nation; the executive, the legislative, and the judicial. The neo-baroque palace from 1907 is the third palace to occupy the historic space on Slotsholmen Island where kings have traditionally ruled over Denmark since the earliest days of Danish history.
A visit is made to the Royal Reception rooms, used by the Danish Queen when entertaining VIP visitors and foreign heads of state. Of special interest are the new tapestries given to the Queen on her 50th birthday in 1990 and they were only completed in 2000 and decorate the large banqueting hall.
Now it´s the time to get back to your coach seats and spend the last minutes of your visit by enjoying panoramic tour through the town whistle your guide tells you the story of our Royal city. The last stop will be photo-stop in front of Danish Royal Opera House – the most modern and the most expensive opera houses ever built.
