This accessible Cádiz shore excursion gives you a wonderful overview of the Old Town. Explore the heart of the town, including the beautiful San Juan de Dios Plaza, the spectacular Cádiz Cathedral and the colorful Plaza de las Flores.
Meet your knowledgeable guide and accessible van. Head out along the waterfront to the heart of Old Town and the Plaza de San Juan de Dios. This beautiful square with medieval origins has been the administrative and commercial center of Cádiz since the 16th century. It is home to several gorgeous buildings, including the City Hall and the Church of San Juan de Dios. Nearby, several small vendor stands sell artisan crafts and souvenirs.
The impressive Cádiz Cathedral is a spectacular, yellow-domed church in perfectly proportioned Baroque Neo-Classical construction (1838). Admire the beautiful clock tower and the fascinating crypt inside.
Continue to the colorful Plaza de Las Flores. This open-air flower market brims with open stalls selling beautiful flowers, plants, and traditional local foods.
The charming Plaza de la Candelaria is a slightly off-the-beaten-track treasure. Lined with orange trees, ironwork lamps, park benches and an ice cream parlor, this square is a wonderful little hidden gem. In stark contrast, the sprawling Plaza de España is dominated by the magnificent Monument to the Constitution of 1812. Pretty gardens, trees and small statues surround the monument.
