View the highlights of Cádiz from your coach as you take a panoramic drive through the city.
Next, head to Jerez de la Frontera -- the sherry capital of the world. This beautiful Andalusian city is celebrated for its Moorish architecture, its flamenco heritage, and the abundance of sweet sherry grapes that thrive in the region’s warm, dry microclimate. Jerez has been producing sherry for centuries using the traditional solera and criadera method, which ages the wine in many separate barrels and gradually combines them over time to ensure a rich fortified wine of fantastic quality, structure and taste.
Take a short stroll through the historic quarter of Jerez on your way to Bodegas Gonzalez Byass -- a family-owned winery established in 1835. Almost two hundred years later, Byass continues to create and showcase some of the region’s best wines. You’ll have the chance to taste four superb sherries here, including the world-famous Tio Pepe Fino label. Your tasting will be paired with traditional tapas, including Spanish ham, Manchego cheese, Fried Aubergine with salmorejo, a Spanish omelet, croquettes and more. And, in true Andalusian style, live flamenco music is provided by a talented guitarist.
Notes:
Minimum age to participate in wine tasting is 18 years.
