Meet your guide at the port and start your walking tour. Tour description by TOG: The city of Cádiz has been since the Discovery of America a gateway to the New World and a bridge between Europe and Africa. Cadiz is also the oldest city in Europe. The old city is African in appearance and immensely intriguing- a cluster of narrow streets opening onto charming small squares. Your guided walking tour will take you to the Town Hall at Plaza San Juan de Dios (outside visit), the old “Populo” Quarter and the famous cathedral of Cadiz.
On Calle Ancha, there are beautiful 19th-century palaces and the cathedral, where you can step inside to view an eclectic transition from 13th-century Baroque style to neo-Classical.
Finish up at the Flamenco Place la Cava for a stylish demonstration of typical Spanish dance, together with some tapas and drinks.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. The cathedral is closed to visitors on Sundays; an outside visit will be substituted.
