It is a rare jewel that has become accessible to the public. The Château was built during the reign of Louis XIV.
It was purchased by Baron Bich in 1978 and it is now the property of his children. Baron Bich is world famous for its ballpoint pen sold all over the planet, as well as its disposable razors and lighters. The function room and wine cellars have been elegantly and stylishly refurbished by a renowned Italian designer.
The estate’s wines have been a leading light among the great Bordeaux wine estates for three hundred years.
In 2012, Château de Ferrand won deserved recognition for the unanimously acclaimed quality of its wines when the estate was awarded Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé status. This ranking also rewards châteaux that have been able to develop their architectural heritage and make it available to wine-lovers.
