Head by coach to the city of Bordeaux for a panoramic drive through the downtown core -- a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
View the Chartrons riverfront where the wine industry began, the 18th-century Place de la Bourse, the Cailhau Gate, the Big Bell and the Palais Rohan, which is now the City Hall. You'll also pass through Gambetta and Tourny Squares and watch for the Grand Theatre built by Victor Louis in 1773. See the monument to the Girondins on Quinconces Square.
Heading out of town, you'll soon find yourself in the nearby wine country surrounding Bordeaux. Stop at one of the prestigious estates to visit the cellars and learn about the art of wine-making. Enjoy a wine tasting before you return to the ship.
Notes:
Terrain includes stairs at the winery. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18 years, with a companion aged 21 years or older.
