This guided kayak experience is your ticket to exploring the breathtaking beauty of the Øygarden Islets off the coast of Bergen. Paddling in the cool, crystal-clear waters of Western Norway is a fantastic way to learn about its natural history.
A 40-minute transfer from Bergen brings you to the starting point. Expert guides lead your journey through a diverse range of coastal scenery and wildlife. Bask in the tranquility of nature and revel in the freedom of this waterborne experience.
You'll pause for a lunch of locally-sourced produce -- homemade sandwiches and apple juice from a local farm -- as your guide explains the region's geological and human history.
Keep an eye out for rich birdlife and natural marine life, including crabs, shrimp, and perhaps even salmon jumping among the kayaks to watch you watching them.
Return to Bergen by coach afterward.
Notes:
Minimum age 8 years. Maximum weight is 220 lbs. No previous experience is required. Dress warmly in layers with a wind- and waterproof outer layer; bring gloves, a scarf and a warm hat. Bring a towel and reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen.
