Located on Ireland's northeast coast, an hour's drive from Belfast, the Ards Peninsula is a serene area of unspoiled natural beauty.
On this lovely panoramic drive, you'll stop to photograph Stormont -- seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly. A symbol of progress away from Northern Ireland's troubled past, the power-sharing executives responsible for Northern Affairs rule from this impressive building.
Drive to Greyabbey, founded in 1193 by Affreca, daughter of Godred -- the Norse King of the Isle of Man. The complex has a most interesting past, and much of the abbey remains quite well-preserved to this day.
Turning north, admire sweeping views across the Irish Sea toward Scotland and pass through the town of Millisle en route to Donaghadee, a small seaside town with a picturesque harbor and lighthouse built in 1836.
Enjoy an Irish coffee here before exploring this charming hamlet independently. Return to the ship after your visit.
