Get acquainted with Norway's adventurous side and enjoy a delicious waffle at the popular Bjorli Ski Resort.
Your day begins with a visit to the Norwegian Mountaineering Center -- a living activity center that opened in 2016. Once a pursuit of the wealthy elite, climbing is now a popular activity for a broad spectrum of Norwegians. The diverse interpretive installations here chart the sport's development. Watch a 15-minute movie showcasing extreme outdoor activities in the spectacular Romsdal Mountains.
Continue to the famous Troll Wall for a spectacular photo stop. The tallest vertical rock face in Europe at nearly 3,300 feet, it incorporates Europe's longest climbing route, where adventurous climbers spend the night on the mountain wall.
At the Bjorli Ski Resort, refreshments of tea, coffee and waffles are served in an authentic barn. As important to the Norwegians as croissants are to the French, waffles are the epitome of Nordic hospitality. Take a moment to enjoy the surroundings and reflect on your taste of Norwegian adventure.
Enjoy some free time to stroll or browse among the shop's excellent selection of crafts, clothes and local delicacies before returning to Andalsnes.
Notes:
Approximately 45 minutes of walking is required. Terrain includes about 50 stair steps. The Norwegian Mountaineering Centre is located a short distance from the pier.
