Your destination today is the great Atlantic Ocean Road -- a five-mile series of bridges and causeways zigzagging from island to island, right out to where the mainland ends and the great ocean begins. The overwhelming might and majesty of the ocean is brought home to you here, and it's quite an unforgettable vista and easily one of the most scenic drives in the world.
Begin with a panoramic drive along Isfjorden to Åfarnes, from where you will take a short ferry ride to Sølsnes.
Upon arrival in Sølsnes, journey by coach for around 1.5 hours, passing over pretty bridges and through an underwater tunnel, before reaching the Atlantic Ocean Road. You will stop along the way at a viewpoint offering stunning views.
Head back to Sølsnes via the charming fishing villages of Bud and Elnesvagen. Take the ferry back to Åfarnes and travel by coach back to Åndalsnes.
During your tour, a delicious lunch is served at a local restaurant.
Notes:
This tour is conducted mainly by coach; however, some walking is required to reach the viewpoint at the Atlantic Ocean Road and the lunch venue. Terrain includes a few steps at the lunch venue. The walkway at the Atlantic Ocean Road viewpoint may be slippery when wet. The route is winding and narrow. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. The tour route passes through several tunnels.
