Start with a short drive through Ålesund to the foot of Sugarlump Mountain, located on the Island of Hessa. Continue on foot for a one-hour hike on a narrow, 1.25-mile-long nature trail. The hike starts at 164 feet above sea level and continues to the summit at 1,000 feet, offering extensive views over the city of Ålesund, Borgundfjord, and further inland to the Sunnm Mountains. After the hike, your coach will return you to the city.
In Spring (April & May), some viewpoints or attractions are inaccessible due to snow, causing roads to remain closed; this varies greatly from season to season. An alternative viewpoint or attraction may be substituted. The onboard Shore Excursions team will provide the latest details approximately 48 hours prior to the call at Alesund. Tour may be canceled at short notice. Participants will be required to climb approximately 836 feet over a total of 2.5 miles round trip over varying terrain. A portion of the route is uphill.
