Always wanted to know the secret ingredients of your favorite Mexican dish? Spice up your cooking skills on this fun day out in Puerto Vallarta. Bring your appetite and roll up your sleeves for some hands-on food fun.
Before beginning your culinary adventure, head to the center of Puerto Vallarta for a guided walk through this charming resort town situated on the Bay of Banderas. See the ever-popular Malecon (boardwalk area), the sea horse sculpture, incredible ocean views and the magnificent Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral. Explore River Cuale Island, nestled in the heart of downtown Puerto Vallarta, where you'll have time to shop for souvenirs.
Drive into the countryside to La Dulce Vista -- a hacienda next to the Mascota River and the venue for your cooking lesson. Enjoy a welcome margarita as you prepare a Mexican salsa molcajete, tasty guacamole, pork tostadas and chicken enchiladas -- Mexican classics made with the freshest ingredients. The chef will select a variety of tequilas -- blanco, reposado and añejo -- from the local Hacienda Doña Engracia tequila factory to pair with your food.
After enjoying the meal that you had a hand in preparing, take some time to relax. Swim in the unheated pool or jacuzzi, explore the grounds and botanical gardens, enjoy views of the Mascota River or while away the day in a hammock.
Notes:
Minimum age to drink alcohol is 21 years. The road up to the hacienda may be muddy, dusty and/or bumpy. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
