Complement your visit to Valencia with a trip to the Lladró City of Porcelain. Having only recently opened its doors to visitors, Lladró now lets you explore behind the scenes of its incredible creations.
From the pier it is a half-hour drive to Lladró and, upon your arrival, a multimedia presentation of the history and inspiration of Lladró (pronounced yadro) and its art will introduce you to the complex.
Begin a leisurely stroll through the production facilities to see the pouring of the molds, the immense kilns used for firing, and the artisans' delicate work of hand-painting each piece. The sculptures born in the City of Porcelain are exported to more than 120 countries.
Return to Valencia and the National Ceramics Museum housed in the sumptuous former palace of Valencia's nobility, the Marquis of Dos Aguas. The alabaster work on the main façade is a beautiful example of Baroque design and within this extravagant home are sweeping staircases and opulent rooms peppered with the history of ceramics.
Return to the ship by motorcoach.
