Leaving the port, take a panoramic drive through Valencia -- Spain's third most important city. Valencia is known as the Flower City because of its vast number of parks and landscaped areas.
Your guide will point out the main monuments on the way to the bike center, where you will pick up your bike and start your cycle tour.
Pedaling away from the bike center, you'll pass the Turia Gardens (located in the old riverbed of the same name) and head towards the Serrano Bridge and Towers. The Serrano Towers mark the entrance to the old walls of Valencia City. The walls are a great historical reference point and are among the best-preserved monuments in Valencia.
Continue cycling and past Trinity Convent, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Royal Gardens.
Crossing the De la Mar Bridge, watch for the Music Hall and the City of Arts & Science -- a fabulous and unusual architectural, cultural and entertainment development that has become quite a landmark. The complex was opened in 2005, and the buildings integrated into it are the Hemispheric, the Prince Felipe Science Museum, L'Umbracle, the Oceanographic, and the Queen Sofia Palace of the Arts.
From there, it is only a short distance back to the pier.
