Explore the beauty of three Ligurian villages: Portofino, Santa Margherita and Rapallo. You will have a guided walking tour of each of the villages, learn about their history, and then enjoy free time to shop in the elegant boutiques or relax in an outdoor café. Board your motorboat and head across the bay to Santa Margherita. Take a guided walking tour of the small harbor and view the Villa Durazzo. Continue on for a special visit inside the Church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia. When the guided portion of your tour ends, enjoy free time for exploring this magical city. Stroll along the charming streets and Central Square, and take in this picturesque seaside village along the Italian Riviera coast. Next, meet up with your guide and head for the quaint City of Rapallo. Walk along the seaside promenade lined with palm trees to the small “Castle on the Sea” guarding the harbor entrance. Travel through Rapallo's narrow alleys lined with colorful shops to Piazza Cavour. View the Town Hall, the 15th Century civic tower Chiesa di San Stefano and Oratorio dei Bianch. Take a break from sightseeing and enjoy an espresso at a local café. Drive back to Santa Margherita where a motorboat will take you to Portofino. Once in Portofino your guide will lead a tour of the village. Portofino began a fishing village of Roman origin, and today is one of the most famous resorts in the world, with its tall and colorful houses facing in a semi-circle around the Piazzetta and the harbor. Continue on to Saint George's Church. Walk with your guide to visit this holy site, and find the preserved Saint's relics, which were brought to Portofino by returning sailors from the crusades. Reconstructed in Romanesque style in 1154, the church was completely rebuilt in 1691 and then again in 1950 following World War II. At the time of the post-war reconstruction, the excavations brought to light a square shaped chapel. St. George serves as Portofino’s patron Saint.
