Board a private boat and set out to explore the history and culture of the stunningly beautiful Italian coast.
You’ll pause in a small bay where the village of San Fruttuoso nestles on the shoreline. Famous for the architectural value of its 10th-century abbey, San Fruttuoso’s fascination lies in its splendid natural surroundings. The cliffs encircling the inlet, the small beach, the rich Mediterranean vegetation, and the absence of vehicles create a memorable tableau. Enjoy the view while staying on the boat for 15 minutes inside the bay.
Continue up the coast until you arrive at Camogli, a small, typical fishing village, once the site of bustling shipyards that helped build one of the world’s greatest merchant fleets. Camogli’s original medieval setting was centered around the local parish church, connected to the mainland by a little square surrounded by colorful buildings and one of the prettiest Baroque churches on the Italian coastline. Take a guided walk through the village and enjoy some free time on your own.
A slice of focaccia bread and a glass of local wine are served on the boat ride back to Portofino.
