Leave the port of Sarande on a hydrofoil headed for Greece and the island of Corfu.
Upon arrival, switch to a coach and commence a panoramic drive introducing you to the island. You will pass through the main part of Corfu Town and head out into a lush and verdant countryside with olive, orange, and lemon trees.
Visit Mon Repo Palace, built in 1828 for the second British High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands, Sir Frederic Adam, as a summer residence. The second son of King George I, George II was born here in 1869, and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, was born and baptized here in 1921. The Greek Royal family spent their summer holidays at Mon Repo, hosting illustrious guests such as Tito of Yugoslavia, Haile Selasie of Ethiopia, and Nasser of Egypt.
Continue to Kanoni for a distant view of the Convent of Vlacherna and Mouse Island.
Return to town via a different route for a guided walk through the narrow streets of the Old Town. Stop at beautiful St Spiridon Church before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Guests are required to carry their passports as this tour crosses an international border. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Travel time to Corfu is approximately 90 minutes each way. The hydrofoil schedule varies, which may affect departure and return time of the tour.
