A Spanish-speaking guide leads this tour (or a guide with a Spanish interpreter). A limited number of Spanish guides and interpreters are available in this port; book early to avoid disappointment. This is not a bilingual tour; please see Historic Split & Riviera for the same tour guided in English.
Your excursion starts with a walking tour through Split's Old Town, originally built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace of Diocletian. The Roman Emperor was born in Salona in the 4th century.
Visit the cellars of the Palace, frozen in time to offer many clues about palace life.
Also of interest is the Cathedral of St Duje. It is built on the remains of an ancient shrine, and you will visit the charming Temple of Jupiter as well.
Heading off on a panoramic drive along the coast, you will travel via a mountain road to Omis -- a small town on the estuary of the Cetina River. The viewpoint above town offers a magnificent vista of the river running through canyons to reach the sea.
The historic Radmanove Mlinice water mill is your venue for a lunch of regional specialties. Spend some free time enjoying the atmosphere here or take a stroll through the forest before heading back to Split.
Minimum age is 4 years. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
