Designed for guests who prefer a minimum of walking, this narrated panoramic drive through Split celebrates the major sights of this city and its epic history.
View the Old Town of Split, built on and around the spectacular 4th-century Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, who was born in Salona (today's Solin).
Watch for the Cathedral of St Duje (patron saint of the city), built on the remains of an ancient shrine and supposedly the oldest cathedral in the world.
See the charming Temple of Jupiter and other landmarks, such as the Golden Gate, the Silver Gate and Peristyle Square from the outside.
You'll pause at the colorful open market (the largest on the Dalmatian coast) or spend some free time in Split on your own before reboarding the motorcoach and returning to the tender pier.
At the end of the narrated city drive, enjoy an optional orientation walking tour, including a visit to the Diocletian Palace's cellars, which are still very well preserved. They offer a fine glimpse of how life in the Palace was organized.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes if you plan to participate in the optional walking tour after the narrated city drive. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
