Set out on a walking tour through Split’s Old Town, originally built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace of Diocletian. The Roman Emperor was born nearby in Salona in the 4th century. The cellars of the Palace are frozen in time, offering many clues about palace life.
The Cathedral of St Duje, built on the remains of an ancient shrine, is also worth visiting. You will also visit the charming Temple of Jupiter.
Heading off on a panoramic drive along the coast, you will travel via a mountain road to Omis -- a small town on the estuary of the Cetina River. The viewpoint above the town offers a magnificent vista of the river running through canyons to reach the sea.
The historic Kastil Slanica (or similar) is your venue for a lunch of regional specialties. Spend some free time enjoying the atmosphere here or take a stroll through the forest before heading back to Split.
Notes:
Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Minimum age is 4 years. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
