This is Rome as you've never seen it before, with all its wonderful authentic flavors. From the streets and alleyways of Trastevere, feel the beating heart of the city of the Romans and indulge in the great tradition of Italian street food.
Cross the Jewish Quarter to learn of its history and take a guided tour through Trastevere's streets, full of stories, anecdotes, and hidden masterpieces. On foot, you will discover the bars and trattorias that lie at the core of Roman life. Near Piazza San Callisto, you'll taste Piero's porchetta (pork belly). At a family-run bakery, sample the famous supplì -- a large rice ball stuffed with sauce, cheese, and melted mozzarella, then breaded and fried -- the star of Roman street food.
Wander among the amazing cityscape of Baroque Rome, through Piazza Navona with Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers and past the Pantheon. Enjoy free time here to purchase lunch (at your own expense).
Regroup after lunch for a mile-long walk-through Rome, past Quirinale Palace, home to the Italian President, and down Via dei Serpenti -- one of the most interesting and charming streets of Rome brimming with color and flavor.
A breathtaking view of the Colosseum will catch your eye from atop Oppio Hill. Walk down to the Colosseum for a street-level view and board your coach back to Civitavecchia.
