The bustling port of Rijeka is the gateway to several Croatian cities, but there is much to be discovered here as well. A two-hour guided walking tour is the perfect opportunity to get to know the lively Old Town and the beautiful Korzo pedestrian promenade.
Stroll along the narrow streets lined with 18th-century buildings, ornate churches and refreshing fountains. The many historic landmarks include the Leaning Tower, which tilts at a precarious angle and is found next to the Church of St Mary of the Assumption. Step inside the Cathedral of Saint Vitus with its rotunda and central dome supported by marble pillars. The Baroque altar houses a 13th-century crucifix. Walk through the local marketplace and admire the impressive Croatian National Theatre.
At the completion of the tour, guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
