Take this wonderful opportunity to enjoy a leisurely panoramic drive by motorcoach on the island of Rhodes.
Leaving the pier, you'll pass by the city walls of the old medieval Rhodes Town -- a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Watch for the New Market Building and enjoy a photo stop at Mandraki if parking for the motorcoach is available. You will see the aquarium and head to the top of Mount Smith for a view over the town of Rhodes, the castle, the coast of Turkey and the nearby islands.
En-route to the Lindos area, you'll stop to photograph the panoramic view of St Paul's Bay and the ancient theatre. From the promontory, you can see, in the distance, the ancient Acropolis of Lindos. According to Homer in The Iliad, the acropolis was built by the Dorians, as were the cities of Kamiros and Ialyssos. These cities exercised considerable maritime power in ancient times.
The village of Lindos with its 1,000 inhabitants lies below the Acropolis. You will pass through it and stop at Faliraki Beach. Like the Greeks, you will enjoy a coffee or refreshment at a waterfront restaurant, returning to Rhodes Town afterwards.
Notes: This tour is an easy tour option with minimal walking and is recommended for guests wishing to get an introduction to Rhodes from the comfort of a motor coach. Guests participating in this tour must be able to get on and off the bus. Tour involves approximately 260 feet of walking.
