Your day starts with a panoramic drive to Kallithea Springs. Discover the timeless beauty and rejuvenating waters of Kallithea Springs, one of Rhodes' most iconic and historically rich landmarks. Nestled along the island's stunning coastline, this breathtaking site combines natural beauty with fascinating history, offering a perfect blend of culture, relaxation, and breathtaking views. On this guided tour, you'll explore the architectural elegance of the springs, a masterpiece built in the 1920s by Italian architects. The springs are famous for their therapeutic waters, believed to have healing properties since ancient times. You'll wander through the beautifully restored buildings, marveling at the intricate mosaics, neoclassical design, and ornate columns that transport you back in time.
Returning to the Old Town of Rhodes, walk with your guide to visit the Street of the Knights and the Palace of the Grand Masters. The fortress here dominates the town. It was destroyed in 1856 and rebuilt in 1929 by the Italians.
Time permitting, guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, and many steps.
