A Spanish-speaking guide leads this tour (or a guide with a Spanish interpreter). A limited number of Spanish guides and interpreters are available in this port; book early to avoid disappointment. This is not a bilingual tour; please see Palma de Mallorca Highlights for the same tour guided in English.
Today you will discover Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the Balearic Islands, with a population of 400,000 and a flourishing economy.
Among Palma's lovely sights is the Gothic-style Bellver Castle -- a unique circle-shaped castle built in the early 14th century. Admire the extensive panoramic landscape below, across the city and surrounding countryside.
Tour Palma's lovely 13th-century cathedral. Your guide will explain the features of the building to you outside; then you will enter and explore on your own (schedule permitting).
See the outside of the adjacent Almudaina Palace -- once the palace of the Mallorcan kings and, before that, an Arab fortress.
Enjoy a short walking tour and a visit to a Pearl Shop before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. You must climb approximately 100 steps in order to visit to the inside of the cathedral and to reach the top of the castle. Tour does not operate on Sundays.
