Start your tour by meeting your accessible van and head out on a short drive to explore the most popular sites of Palma's beautiful Old Town.
An accessible walking/rolling tour of Palma begins at the colorful local fruit, meat and seafood market — Mercat de l'Olivar. Browse among the local produce and artisan stalls.
Then, take a leisurely stroll/roll with your guide along the main shopping street, Carrer de Sant Miguel. In the prominent public square, Plaza Mayor, take some time to explore the beautiful, historic architecture of the square and purchase some souvenirs if you wish. Open-air market stalls and street artists often gather here.
View the incredible Palma Town Hall building, which dates back to the 17th century and still sports its original roof. Check out the ornate doorways and the town clock. You'll also explore the charming Cort Plaza, with ornately carved benches, beautiful architecture, and a 600-year-old olive tree.
Visit the glorious Palma Cathedral. This magnificent 14th-century church, known as La Seu, is the most iconic building in Palma and one of Europe's tallest Gothic structures. Via accessible routes, your tour guide will lead you through this spectacular masterpiece, which boasts 61 stained-glass windows and works by Antoni Gaudí and Miguel Barceló .
Notes:
This tour is designed to be accessible for all guests, including those using a wheelchair (the tour operator suggests you bring a companion to assist, as guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs). The tour route avoids stairs; however, the nature of access may differ from the standards you are familiar with at home. Accessible bathrooms with wide doors are available along the tour route. The number of accessible vehicles available is extremely limited; make your accessible shore excursion reservations as far in advance as possible. Guests requiring accessible transportation, please complete the Special Services form at https://book.hollandamerica.com/specialServices/login.action; this will ensure that suitable transportation is in place for your tour. Tour does not operate on Sundays.
