Transfer to Salerno and hop aboard a motor launch for a scenic 45-minute cruise along the gorgeous Amalfi Coast. It's an ideal photo opportunity for shots of the rocky outcroppings and verdant grottos dotting the cliffs.
Upon arrival in Amalfi town, you'll have approximately 60 minutes of free time to explore. You may wish to check out the Amalfi Cathedral -- a striking structure with 62 steps leading to its entrance, an Arabian-influenced Romanesque façade, the Cloister of Paradise, and Basilica of the Crucifix.
Upon returning to Salerno, you'll board a motorcoach for an almost two-hour drive to the resort seaside town of Sorrento. Lunch is served at a local restaurant here -- an authentic meal using fresh, seasonal ingredients of the Campania region.
You will have approximately an hour of free time to spend at your leisure. Sorrento boasts one of the largest shopping districts along the Amalfi Coast. Lace sheets, fine furniture, table linens and handcrafted pottery are the local specialties.
Reboarding your motorcoach, head to a local cameo factory where artisans carve seashells or coral into beautiful jewelry.
Your tour ends with an approximate 90-minute drive back to Naples.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Modest attire is required for visiting churches or cathedrals; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered; shorts are not allowed. In the event of unfavorable weather, rough seas, or operational limitations caused by congestion at the ports of Amalfi or Salerno, the coastal cruise segment between Amalfi and Salerno may be cancelled. Should this occur, the itinerary will continue entirely by coach. In place of the visit to Amalfi, guests will enjoy time in an alternative village along the Amalfi Coast, such as Maiori, Minori, or Vietri sul Mare. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Tour may be operated in reverse order to avoid congestion. Amount of free time at each site may vary due to traffic conditions.
