Leaving the port of Messina, you will head towards the lovely village of Zafferana, driving south on the freeway through a fertile paradise of green vineyards and golden citrus groves. At 1,800 feet above sea level, Santa Venerina village boasts enchanting, wild scenery, which becomes increasingly forbidding as you approach the park of Mt Etna. You'll have the opportunity to visit the 1992 lava flows here.
After a 30-minute drive, you'll reach the Gival jewelry factory at Giarre and receive a very warm welcome from the staff and a cocktail to enjoy. Tour the small workshop and see the unique collection within the exhibition room, where you can buy a piece of jewelry if you wish.
Notes:
Wear closed-toe walking shoes. There are approximately 30 steps within the villa, and there is no elevator. Mt Etna is viewed from a distance and is not visited on this tour.
