Since the early 1960s, when The Beatles first made their appearance, Liverpool has played a leading role in the formation of the world's popular music culture.
This tour will take you on a journey back into the sights and sounds of Liverpool during the heyday of The Beatles' fame. You will see their former homes and schools and pass by the places that inspired their music -- including Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.
Visit Strawberry Fields, immortalized in 1967 by the release of The Beatles' song, Strawberry Fields Forever. Go beneath the surface of The Beatles famous hit song, explore the real Strawberry Field for yourself, and discover why it was so significant to John Lennon. Relax for a moment in the historic garden with its original, iconic red gates, and reflect on being in the very same place where John Lennon sought solace as a child.
You will also see the schools that John and Paul attended, hear the story of how Paul was turned down for the cathedral choir, and see the places where they worked before they found fame and fortune as musicians.
Continue to the Royal Albert Dock to visit The Beatles Story -- an exhibition that charts the success of the band from their early days right through to the height of their success, their subsequent break-up, and their later solo careers.
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
