Since the early 1960s, when The Beatles first made their appearance, Liverpool has played a leading role in the formation of the world's popular music culture.
This tour will take you on a journey back into the sights and sounds of Liverpool during the heyday of The Beatles' fame. You will see their former homes and schools and pass by the places that inspired their music -- including Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.
The Wall of Fame at the Matthew Street Gallery records all of The Beatles' number one hits, as well as those of all the other great artists who have come from Liverpool.
You will also see the schools that John and Paul attended, hear the story of how Paul was turned down for the cathedral choir, and see the places where they worked before they found fame and fortune as musicians.
Your tour concludes at the Albert Docks with a visit to The Beatles Story -- an exhibition which charts the success of the band from their early days right through to the height of their success, their subsequent break-up and their later solo careers.
