See from the outside some of the most important landmarks of Lisbon -- the Tower of Belém, the Monument to the Discoveries and the Jeronimos Monastery.
Sintra, a hillside town, was hailed by Lord Byron as a 'Glorious Eden' for its dense, subtropical vegetation. Lunch is served here at a local restaurant, and you will have some free time to explore the central Town Square, where the 15th-century Royal Palace is located. Shop, browse, or visit (at your own expense) one of the cafés that spill out onto the sidewalks.
In Cascais, you will have free time to explore among the town's early 20th-century manors.
Notes:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses, wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
