A coach ride brings you to Manarola, and you will have time to tour this quaint village.
Board a ferry and sail to Vernazza, where you will have free time to explore.
Back on the ferry, you will reach Monterosso -- the last of the five villages of the Cinque Terre. This town is divided into two distinct parts -- San Cristoforo Hill, and the old maritime village protected by a rock spur. This is the only village with a wide beach and a seafront.
After your guide points out the highlights of Monterosso, you'll have some free time to continue your exploration.
Feel free to purchase lunch if you wish (at your own expense) and enjoy shopping on your own.
Return by local train to La Spezia or to Levanto and board the coach for the drive back to Livorno.
Notes:
Bring a credit card and cash, as lunch is on your own. In the event of unfavorable sea conditions, when the ferries/boats do not operate, train transportation from Manarola to Vernazza and Monterosso will be substituted: you will go by bus to Manarola and then by train to Vernazza and Monterosso. The train is basic public transport. If you wish to swim at Monterosso, wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat. The Cinque Terre is a popular destination; expect crowding in the villages. You will likely encounter a long line while waiting to board the boat; boarding is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. This tour requires extensive walking over uneven surfaces, standing in line and steps. This tour is not accessible for guests using mobility devices such as wheelchairs or scooters.
Please note: This tour is very popular and typically sells out. Alternative tours with similar content may be available, including 18619 Cinque Terre & Portovenere UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
