A German-speaking guide leads this tour (or a guide with a German interpreter). A limited number of German guides and interpreters are available in this port; book early to avoid disappointment.
A visit to Ephesus is a visit to one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world. Ancient historians believed that the Amazons founded Ephesus, but now it is believed to have been the Hittite city of Apasa.
Follow your guide to the Odeon, where the advisory council held its meetings.
Walk past the Baths, as well as many other columns, monuments and ruins, including the Celsus Library and the Great Theatre.
Return to Kusadasi for shopping and an optional Turkish carpet demonstration, or head directly back to the ship.
Notes:
Tour requires extensive walking. Terrain includes uneven and cobblestone surfaces, inclines, and many steps. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Expect dense crowding and congestion at each site. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Bring insect repellent in July and August. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
