Travel to the picturesque Solmissos Mountains to attend a special Catholic mass, including communion, at the Virgin Mary Shrine. This small shrine is surrounded by lush foliage and is dedicated to St Mary. It is situated where the ruins of the house believed to have been occupied by Jesus' mother were first discovered. The shrine is cared for by the Lazarist Fathers, and you will take part in a very special mass service and receive communion in this beautiful setting.
Set out on a guided walk through ancient Ephesus. The downhill walk through the ruins highlights the archeological finds along the way.
You'll see the beautifully preserved Temple of Hadrian, the magnificent Trajan Fountain, the Odeon Theater, the majestic Celsus Library and the Great Theater.
Back at the port, browse in the colorful bazaar and view a optional Turkish carpet-weaving demonstration.
Notes:
Although this tour is designed not to involve uphill walking, there is extensive walking at the site. The use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Ancient Ephesus is not wheelchair accessible. Wear comfortable, non-skid walking shoes.
