After your visit to Magnesia, continue on your journey to Miletus -- the oldest and the most powerful of the twelve Ionian cities in Asia Minor.
Miletus is renowned for being the first city to apply the principles of modern town planning. Hippodamos's grid plan later formed the basis of planning in all Roman cities and throughout much of the Western world.
See the ruins of the theatre, baths, and stadium. Visit the Archaeological Museum at Miletus to examine some wonderful artifacts taken from the many ancient sites in the area.
A boxed lunch includes a cheese sandwich, an apple, fruit juice, chocolate cookies, and a small bottle of water.
Return to Kusadasi, where you will have time to shop or attend an optional Turkish carpet demonstration.
Notes:
Wear comfortable, non-skid walking shoes.
Visit to the Temple of Apollo/Didiema has been cancelled due to renovations/maintenance. This visit will be substituted with a visit to Ancient Magnesia.
