Here's a quick and convenient way to enjoy an overview of the Slovenian coast, which stretches a mere 30 miles but boasts four major towns. Koper, Izola, Piran and Portoroz each has a unique atmosphere. As you travel the coastline by bus, you're free to hop on or off as you please.
If you would like to see a traditional fishing town, then Izola is for you. Enjoy a seafood lunch (at your own expense) on the riviera and stroll along the narrow streets to get close to its real character.
Piran is the next stop, where Venetian architecture dominates with pastel colors. This is one of the oldest towns in Slovenia -- virtually an open-air museum. Walk up to the church and marvel some of the best panoramas view on the coast. The town's atmosphere takes you back in time.
For leisurely visit, enjoy the seaside resort of Portoroz, where you will find Slovenia's only sandy beach and many bustling cafés along the seafront.
Your free time during the tour will be enriched if you use your selection of tasting coupons for a sample of local flavors. Tailor your visit to suit yourself. The bus escort will introduce you to the region and to each town along the way.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
