Board a shuttle and then a ferry to cross from the tender pier in Mykonos to the ancient site of Delos. Delos was the mythical birthplace of Apollo -- god of light and music -- and his twin sister Artemis. These were the children of Zeus and Leto. The sacred island is uninhabited, but its earliest settlements date to the 3rd millennium BC.
The ruins of Delos are great in number and importance: the Sanctuary of Apollo complex, the area of the Sacred Lake (which dried up in 1926), the Terrace of Lions, the sanctuaries on Cynthus, the theater district, and the commercial harbor district.
A walking tour will enable you to see one of the most revered sanctuaries of antiquity.

A great deal of walking is required on this tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; please dress accordingly. Bring a hat and wear sunscreen. Tour includes a 45-minute ferry ride each way.
