Meet your guide at the pier.
Begin by exploring the local markets, which are a lively, colorful and exciting part of life in Istanbul.
Visit the Spice Market, where you will smell the ancient spices such as frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, cumin and rice spice, and watch the trading as it has been done for centuries.
Stop also at the Beyoglu Farmers’ Market to learn about the many delicious ingredients that go into Turkish cuisine.
Don't miss the largest fish market in Istanbul -- your chance to see the many species available only in the Bosphorus Strait.
Lunch will be served at a local kebab house. You’ll learn all about Turkish kebabs -- how they are made and how to eat this special cuisine as the Turks do!
Stroll the alleys of the Grand Bazaar and enjoy the many different varieties of wares along with a demonstration on the art of carpet weaving.
Notes:
Expect dense traffic conditions in Istanbul. The covered section of the Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and during Ramadan; shopping will take place in stores just outside the Grand Bazaar. During Ramadan the Spice Market will be closed for the Festival. Corkage policy: The on-board corkage fee is waived for one bottle of wine per person for wine purchased during this tour.
