Discover the main landmarks of Jerusalem by comfortable air-conditioned motor coach without the need for extensive walking. Leave Haifa port and drive via the Coastal Plain and the Judean Mountains to Jerusalem. Begin your tour with a panoramic view of the old city from atop the Mount of Olives; then, follow in the footsteps of Jesus as you walk through Gethsemane—the garden of olive trees in which Jesus spent the last moments before his arrest. After your lunch break, enjoy another panoramic view of the City and Temple Mount from the Sherover Promenade. Driving around the old city walls, you willenter the Old Town by the Dung Gate. Here you will visit the Western or Wailing Wall—the last vestige of the ramparts that surrounded the Holy Temple of the Jews built by Solomon. Leaving Jerusalem, you’ll drivepast the Knesset (Israel's parliament), the Shrine of the Book and the Supreme Court; then, return to Haifa.
Notes:
Although this tour is substantially less strenuous than other Jerusalem excursions, some walking is required. This tour will not visit the Old City; you will only step inside the Dung Gate to view the Wailing Wall. Modest attire is required; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered. Travel time to Jerusalem is approximately two hours each way.
Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
