Depart Haifa pier for a one-hour drive through the Jezre’el Valley to Nazareth, childhood home of Jesus and the City of the Annunciation. Nazareth is revered as the spot where the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, telling her that she would bear the Son of God. Your visit includes the Church of the Annunciation, built on the site where Mary is said to have lived and where she received Gabriel’s message. You will also see the Church of St Joseph dedicated to the earthly father of Jesus, where Joseph’s carpentry workshop is believed to have stood. Drive on via Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle turning water into wine at a wedding, to the Sea of Galilee and enjoy a sumptuous lunch. After lunch, drive to Tabgha to visit the church of Peter's Primacy by the lake and Capernaum, St Peter’s village. See the ancient synagogue where Jesus taught and St Peter’s house. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus gave his Sermon on the Mount, and then to the Yardenit baptismal site on the Jordan River. After exploring the Galilee region, you’ll return to your ship in Haifa port.
