A fun ride in an eco-friendly, zippy little tuk-tuk makes for a great experience in Dubrovnik and the surrounding area.
Not far from the port, you'll see the newly built cable-stay bridge that offers a panoramic view of the harbor area and your cruise ship.
You'll take the coastal route to the top of Srdj Hill. The viewpoint here offers the quintessential picture-postcard vista of Dubrovnik that you've seen on all the travel posters. The Old Town, the city walls, the red roofs, and the sparkling Adriatic -- it's a view made in heaven.
Hop into a tuk-tuk for a fun and friendly ride to Pile Square at the north end of Dubrovnik's Old Town. Here you are given the option to return to the ship by tuk-tuk or to enjoy some free time in Dubrovnik to walk along the Stradun -- the main street of Old Dubrovnik. "Those who seek paradise on earth," George Bernard Shaw once wrote, "should come to Dubrovnik." Today, Shaw might add that they should consider arriving by tuk-tuk and that Dubrovnik, recovered and restored after Croatia's bloody war for Independence, is the ideal place to renew one's faith in human nature and sheer tenacity.
Return to the ship at your leisure by way of the shuttle service.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
