Begin your outing with a boat ride alongside Dubrovnik's instantly recognizable City Walls, built in the 13th century. The walls are approximately 1.5 miles long; they boast four fortresses and no less than 33 bastions. Pass the Fort of St Lawrence and Lokrum Island. The first written record of Lokrum dates to 1023 and its Benedictine abbey. According to legend, Richard the Lion Heart was cast ashore on Lokrum when he was shipwrecked in 1192.
Now it's your turn to swim in what Jacques Cousteau labeled one of the cleanest seas in the world. Alternatively, sunbathe on the pebbly beach or relax in the shade with a sun umbrella and chaise lounge.
Return to the Old Town of Dubrovnik, where you'll have free time to explore on your own.
When you're ready, the shuttle bus will take you back to the pier.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
