This transfer may suit you if you would like to explore on your own. It consists of a motorcoach ride from the ship to Taormina. You will be dropped off at the underground parking area, and the coach escort will advise you of the pick-up time for the return journey. From there, you must take the elevator and steps to street level. You will have approximately 2.5 hours to shop and explore independently.

Guide service, taxi transfers, entrance fees and lunch are not included in the transfer price. It is your responsibility to be at the pick-up point at the given return time. An English-speaking escort will be aboard the transfer motorcoach to answer questions en route. Travel time to Taormina is approximately one hour each way. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Expect crowding in Taormina. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, many steps, and an elevator to climb from the parking area to the town. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations; if there is an extended wait for the elevator, participants will be required to reach the parking area by stairs (approximately 140 steps) to meet back up with the coach at the appointed time.
