Discover Cartagena from the comfort of an eye-catching motorized tricycle. Your driver takes you to numerous local beauty spots for lots of photo opportunities.
You'll head to the beach in Cartagena before traveling out of the city towards La Union. Just before the town center, a turn-off takes you towards Portman and the mining district. Your guide explains the area's history, including how the Romans mined the local silver reserves, the British Industrial Revolution, and modern times. Discuss the reality of the Romans' environmental impact on the area -- it's quite fascinating.
Travel along stunning mountain roads, where rugged beauty and coastal views are on display. You'll drop into La Manga Club -- an affluent area providing amazing views out to the Mar Menor and La Manga strip.
From the coastal village of Los Urrutias, turn inland and travel through local farmland, passing one of the region's few working windmills.
In Los Comanchos, you'll spot the Liqueur 43 factory before you head back toward the city of Cartagena. You can visit the old amphitheatre (at your own expense), just five minutes from the ship, if you wish.
