Visit Bermeo, a town on the Cantabrian coast deeply rooted in its sea-fishing heritage. You'll have some free time to browse or visit the Fishing Museum (at your own expense).
In Guernica, admire the Casa de Juntas -- a fine historical villa -- which serves as the House of Parliament for Vizcaya.
See the city's iconic oak tree, the Church of Santa María, where politicians are sworn in, the Peace Park, and the Jai Alai courts, where the Basque people practice their favorite sport of pelota.

Casa de Juntas is subject to closure at short notice. Tour requires a 10- to 15-minute walk from the coach parking area in Guernica to the Casa de Juntas and the Park of Europe. Many shops in Bermeo are closed on Sundays and over lunchtime. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
