A Spanish-speaking guide leads this tour (or a guide with a Spanish interpreter). A limited number of Spanish guides and interpreters are available in this port; book early to avoid disappointment. This is not a bilingual tour; please see Barcelona Highlights for the same tour guided in English.
Enjoy a get-acquainted tour that introduces the highlights of Barcelona. Your guide will point out many landmarks, beginning with a walking tour through the Born Quarter. At the 14th-century Santa Maria del Mar Basilica, you'll step inside to admire the interior.
Drive up the Passeig de Gracia. This street showcases many of the city's Modernist buildings — some designed by architect Antoni Gaudí. Pause to see Gaudí's Sagrada Familia Church; then, the coach will continue a panoramic drive to the Plaza España and Montjuïc — site of the 1992 Olympic Games.
Notes:
This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Barcelona. Guides are not allowed to provide commentary inside the cathedral on Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and holidays; an introduction will be given outside, and you will view the inside on your own. Modest attire is required for visiting churches or cathedrals; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered; shorts are not allowed. Tour requires walking 15 minutes at a moderate pace from the coach to Sagrada Familia church. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, and many steps. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
