Mediterranean and Catalán cuisine dominate this visit to the famous promenade of La Rambla. Here, you'll find the La Boqueria and Santa Caterina markets. The original Boqueria dates to 1217 when meat, vegetables, and fruits were the primary merchandise. See the original building, with its metal roof built later by Mas Vilà in Modernist style.
Browse among the multitude of stalls selling a wide variety of Catalán and Spanish products, such as traditional sausages, cheeses, and fruits from all over the world.
Learn about the history and traditions surrounding various Mediterranean ingredients and dishes before proceeding to two different Catalán restaurants, each of which will serve different types of delicious, locally-curated tapas .
Notes:
Three tapas are served at each of the two restaurants. Explanations are given outside the markets, and you will explore independently. Your guide will set up a meeting point at the restaurant for the tapas. Tour does not operate on Sundays and holidays. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Barcelona. Tour does not operate on weekends or holidays. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
