Discover the Alhambra -- the dramatic highlight of historic Granada -- on this unforgettable tour. Several interesting sights will be visible from the coach along the 2½-hour drive to Granada, and your guide will introduce you to local traditions and history as you travel.
Granada itself is a beautiful city, but nothing in all of Spain compares to the wealth of architectural art to be found in the city's Muslim-Hispano complex -- the 14th-century Alhambra Gardens.
A highlight is the Generalife palace and gardens, built to offer the Sultans a comfortable and fresh residence for the hot summer months. Vegetable and ornamental gardens provided fresh produce and flowers for the palace. Also quite unforgettable is the Alcazaba Fortress, which served as base for the defense and security of the Alhambra and grew into a small city to house the impressive army.
A short walk brings you to the lunch venue, where you will relax over a delicious meal.
Notes:
This tour does not visit the Nazaries Palace. Travel time to Granada is approximately 2½ hours each way, with a brief restroom stop (time permitting) en route. The Alhambra is not accessible to wheelchairs or walkers. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
As entrance fees are non-refundable and included in this excursion price, and it is necessary to pay in advance, no refund will be offered, and full charges will be made should you cancel your tour. The same will apply to waitlisted reservations, once transferred to an actual booking, cancellation charges will apply.
