On a scenic panoramic drive through the city, travel through Tamavua Heights, one of Suva's nicest suburbs, for panoramic views of Suva Harbor and Lauthala Bay.
Head into the mountains and to Colo-i-Suva Forest Park (pronounced tholo-ee-soo-va). In the mighty jungle, the adventure begins, and you'll explore nature at your own pace. This lush rainforest park is an oasis teeming with vivid and melodic birdlife and tropical flora. Among the wildlife are 14 different bird species, including scarlet robins, spotted fantails, Fiji goshawks, sulphur-breasted musk parrots, Fiji warblers, golden doves, and barking pigeons.
The miles of walking trails navigate clear, natural pools and gorgeous vistas, with just a touch of Indiana Jones in the rope swings over water and stone steps across streams. You will take a mountainside trail that leads to the lower natural pool. Once there, you'll be able to relax and swim in the cool, clear water and simply revel in the gorgeous, verdant surroundings.
Reboard your coach and head back to the pier with a shopping stop in the city.
Notes:
Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, gravel, roots and steps. The hiking trails are uneven. Wear sturdy non-skid walking/hiking shoes. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. The trail can be slippery if it has rained the night before.
